On First Glance... It seems like a lot to take in & learn! What's the learning curve like?
Yes, it does, but with the very first navigation training, you'll find it quite intuitive. When we show you how to use it, and we show you different ways it can be applied, you'll go from jittery and apprehensive to AHA!! very quickly. You will really like what it can do for you not only on a project or program management initiative, but applied to a great many areas.
The best part is that you can download a fully functioning version from www.mindjet.com and use it for a month. If you don't like it, don't buy it, but we think you will like it and will want to know more and do more with it!
Seems like it's an "Oh no! Another thing we have to learn. My teams don't have time to pile on another thing to learn!"
Perhaps. But we're only talking about 90 minutes to a couple of hours. We would ask you to sit back, relax, get a coffee and give it a chance for this amount of time.
Once you see the pieces fall into place, you'll begin to experience a WOW! moment. It really is a terrific tool and you'll begin to see many, many possibilities and business added value!
As you progress, most likely, you'll see some subtle things during the discussion that will pique your interest. Switching from a Gantt view to a Kanban view and other views with nothing more than a click... what you can do with icons, or markers, Smart Rules, or map parts. It's the progression from being just another spectator to asking, "So what if I did this or did that..." Then, "Oh, wow!"
What are the differentiators?
If you look at the Advantages of Mind Mapping tab, you'll see a whole list of benefits. Certainly, there must be specific ones from that list that'll hit home with you. There are other ones not listed.
Why are you offering merchandise on your website? That's tacky!
Project management & program management are hard, challenging, and can be very trying to many people, even after having done it for years. The hard skills are one thing, but there are other skills that must be learned over time. Very few people are born with political, negotiating, cultural, communication, facilitation, or personality skills.
Yes, there are some people that have natural charisma, or are just plain funny and can get up in front of a group and be entertaining. All I know is... I can't. Some of us have to work harder at certain things.
That's why we included a store for leadership / management awards & recognition. Many people know what it's like to get through super tough projects. So, we chose a few areas where we offer up ideas with watches, pens and journals that are apropos to saying, "We appreciate what you accomplished with this project and here's a small token of our thanks for what you were able to achieve and deliver."
That's it. Nothing more than that. You don't have to visit those pages if you don't want to. But we hope you will.
Do you have a money back guarantee?
The cost for our maps are very low, but the content is extremely high. That balance tilts more in the favor of our customers. All of our maps have been carefully thought out and are as feature packed as possible. When a map sells for $5 to $20 we don't consider that something that's refundable. However, if you feel that you chose the wrong map for a specific purpose you had in mind, we will provide a refund.
If we are literally stumped on a mapping problem, do you offer a contact number so that we don't have to suffer over a prolonged period of time?
Yes. 314-707-0248, or 314-635-8228. Otherwise, you can enter into our Help & Support page where we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
Can you help with special pricing or licensing issues?
My company purchased another mind mapping software platform from a competing vendor. Can your mind maps be converted from MindManager 2019 to ConceptDraw Mind Map or iMindMap?
We have experimented with both of those platforms and a couple of others. Some of our maps import nicely into ConceptDraw Mind Map. Sometimes we do have alignment, or cosmetic issues, but generally speaking, it's clean as far as import of the topic nodes and text. Images don't come over that easily.
iMindMap also has an import function. The map nodes and text import but sometimes have problems with layout and appearance.
We suggest checking with the vendors before using a platform other than Mindjet MindManager 2019 from Corel.
Both iMindMap & ConceptDraw Mind Map are fantastic products and I am definitely not disparaging either of them. Both platforms will serve you well.
Symytry's founders started with Mindjet MindManager about 20 years ago and we stuck with them.
Mindjet was acquired by Corel in 2017 and they have done an excellent job of listening & hearing their customers. Technical and functional feature additions have been fantastic and new ones are added all the time. This is the reason we are MindManager advocates and use it as our central platform of choice. It is the "single source of the truth" on projects!
Do your maps have to be so large? Why couldn't you break them into more manageable clusters?
You can, and... we do in certain circumstances. We use a model we call a "360 Degree Process Engineered View."
If you're managing a project, we want you to have access to every tool, document, template, artifact, MS Office anything, PDF, other internally connected mind map, externally connected mind map,... anything directly / instantly from inside the project main mind map control panel and / or dashboard. Whew!!
That's a 360 degree view and lends itself well to being able to apply filters, ask resource what-if questions, apply smart rules, work with Kanban strategies, perform analysis based on tags, deal with project planning & schedules, work with certain conditionals and many other criteria. We do this to maintain the integrity of the team alignment no matter where on the Earth they're located.
This is also where "map parts" come into play. You'll definitely want to know a lot more about all of these things I just mentioned. There are some very cool features that you simply need to see in action.
Does Symytry Foundations offer any onsite support, training or consulting?
Yes, we do offer both online and on site training classes. We'll help you get started by setting up the whole mapping environment and help your team to learn how to use the platform so that mapping will work for them, and not so the team is working for the mapping process. That's where Symytry comes into play.
Once you start using it, it will be difficult to go back to the way you were doing it before.
